At Wednesdays meeting (25 Nov 2009) held at Gloucester Rugby Club Damon Farrell of Biogen gave a very informative presentation as to our duty of care not only to players but also to anyone attending our venues in relation to all aspects of hygiene, infection control, decontaminations and environmental well being.

In the presentation Damon was able to demonstrate that in relation to the playing side of rugby, and in order for all clubs to provide a safe environment, we need to be signing of the same song sheet, as infection can easily be passed from one club to another when competing against and sharing venues.

The presentation clearly showed that the lack of infection control could have a massive financial impact on individual clubs, with the loss of players due to infection, or the reduction of performance levels in players who may not even know they have a problem.

Biogen are one of the leaders in the field of all aspects of hygiene, infection control, decontaminations and environmental well being and are offering a discounted assessment for all clubs who are members of RUSA.

A link to the Biogenn web site and the presentation given at the meeting will be available in due course.

Should anyone wish to contact Biogenn in the meantime you can contact Damon on or go to the web site www.biogen.co.uk
